Welcome to the second annual Belize Expedition. I have been working at Isla Marisol in Belize for the past three years as a SCUBA Instructor. Last year was my first year organizing a small group of divers to Isla Marisol. There is a deep connection that happens when you are free from life’s distractions. That is what happens at Isla Marisol. We eat together, we dive together and we share our stories. I want to share this experience with you. The reason is that the ocean needs our attention. What happens in one week on Isla Marisol is you become in tune with the ocean and her creatures. These interactions redefine a connection that we all have with our planet. This connection resonates and inspires thought and influences choices. When you get back to your daily life you remember that reef and those creatures trying to survive in a disappearing ecosystem. It is my hope that the further decisions you make consider the health of that reef. By becoming aware and changing your behavior you are making a positive difference. I have always believed that change begins with one person. What I am trying to do is raise awareness of ocean issues through personal experience. Come dive with us, and dive with a purpose.
